On the beach clean I run on Fistral Beach<\/a>, Newquay, Cornwall some volunteers focus on removing tiny plastics and other marine litter from the strand line. We use small bags made from tulle which are ideal for collecting plastic pieces, and by shaking the bag, the sand falls through leaving behind litter.<\/p>

This collection of marine litter provides a good example of what is found in the strand lines of our beaches. Of note, there were very few nurdles in the part of the beach I was working on.<\/p>
